Rev. John Canales, Pastor
Rev. John Canales was born into a Christian family, and came to Christ at a very early age. Originally from New York, Pastor John served eight years in the US Air Force working in the space program before being called to ministry. He graduated from Reformed Theological Seminary in 1996 and has served pastorates in Florida, Wisconsin and Philadelphia before coming to Christ Presbyterian Church in 2005.
He and his wife, Mary Jo, have been married since 1989 and have two children.
Jahaziel Cantu, Associate Pastor
Rev. Jahaziel received a degree in industrial engineering and worked for several years in Monterrey, Mexico. He received his Master of Divinity from Westminster Theological Seminary (Dallas) in 2009. Prior to church planting in Flower Mound, Rev. Jahaziel served at Cristo Rey, a PCA multicultural church in Dallas TX, for 7 years.
Rev. Jahaziel is a cancer survivor and recognizes the grace that he received from the Lord in his salvation and in his healing. He has started a ministry to cancer survivors and their loved ones which meets regularly at the church (see the Calendar for details).
He and his wife Ann have three children.When he is not working on his sermons he is often watching the Denver Broncos, playing his guitar, or visiting a park with his children.
Chris Oglesby, Director of Music
Chris Oglesby, originally from Georgia, came to North Texas to complete a Masters of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of North Texas (UNT). His wife, Rachel, is the church pianist and has also completed a Masters of Music in Vocal Performance from UNT.
CPC is deeply grateful for their contribution to our worship and praise of the Lord through their music ministry.
Daniel Beal, Elder
Daniel Beal is a founding member of CPC. He and his wife, Shaz, reside in Copper Canyon. They have two children.
Ray White, Elder
Ray has a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Northern Colorado. Ray served in the US Air Force for over twenty years. He flew as a private pilot for many years.
He became an elder at CPC in 2005. He and his wife, Olivia, reside in Double Oak. They have three grown children and two grandchildren.g in California, that we don’t see enough.
Sam Bridgeman, Elder
Sam grew up in East Chicago and does not remember a time he did not believe in God. Sam has served as an elder in both the OPC and PCA.
Sam has a Master of Sciences, Financial Services and has several financial services industry designations.
Sam, along with our Director of Music and other men in the church, enjoy a capella singing and have graced several of our church events with joint performances. He and his wife, Yvonne, have four children, ten grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Mary Jo Canales, Office Manager
Mary Jo, wife of CPC pastor, John Canales, has served on the office staff of several churches. She began serving as Office Manager for CPC in 2016. She and Pastor John are the parents of two children.
