In light of our governor’s mandate restricting public gatherings to limit the spread of COVID-19, Christ Church OPC will not be holding live worship services or any other events of any size until the mandate is lifted. In addition, our church office will be closed. In the words of Hank Belfield, the stated clerk of the OPC, we believe this decision is “an expression of looking out for the welfare of Christ’s sheep, of loving our neighbor as ourselves, and of submitting to governing authorities appointed by God for the good of society.”
However, we will stream our worship service every Sunday at 10:30am until the mandate is lifted. This service will contain all the usual elements of worship (singing, praying, preaching), except for the Lord’s Supper.
These changes undoubtedly present a real challenge to our ability to worship together as a church body. But we are thankful for the technology that allows us to continue to praise God and to feed upon his Word even when we’re unable to physically gather in person. Consequently, we strongly encourage every church family to avail themselves of the means of grace that this livestream affords us while heeding the mandate to not gather. You can download a copy of the bulletin for worship from this website so that you can follow along, and you can continue to show your gratitude to God through online giving, also here on the website. So gather your family together and join us in your homes on Sunday at 10:30am via livestream as we sing, pray, listen to God’s Word, and thank him for his continuing grace and goodness. Please download the bulletin here.
